Is Your Laser Hair Removal Technician Using State-of-the-Art
Laser Hair Removal Technology?
Introducing The Candela GentleLASE Hair Removal Laser
New Freedom Laser uses the most advanced laser hair removal technology available today.
The Candela GentleLASE is the best hair removal laser on the market today. It is a
premium hair removal and large leg vein laser that is smaller, lighter and faster to
use for the hair removal technician. What it means for you, the patient, are fast treatment
times, unparalleled clinical efficacy, comfort and the greatest flexibility treating
a variety of conditions.
In addition, the Candela hair removal laser offers precise,
non-invasive treatment of cosmetic skin conditions such as excessive hair by applying
high energy, long pulse operations with the industry’s only integrated Dynamic
Cooling Device for alexandrite lasers. The Dynamic Cooling Device minimizes patient
discomfort and collateral epidermal changes. Again, results for the patient are quick,
effective and comfortable.
The Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) is a state-of-the-art, patented
system that selectively cools the upper layers of your skin an instant before the laser
energy pulse is applied which serves to minimize any discomfort caused by heat emitted
from the laser itself.
How GentleLASE Hair Removal Laser Technology Works
The GentleLASE hair removal laser, manufactured
by Candela Corporation, generates long pulses of laser light in the near infrared wavelength
range (755 nanometers) to thermally affect the hair follicle. This infrared wavelength
targets the naturally occurring light absorption properties of your hair. All light-based
hair removal devices generally differ in their choice of wavelength, pulse duration, power,
fluence, spot size and/or skin cooling method. These characteristics are important and
can influence the safety and efficacy of the treatment.
The choice of wavelength is influenced
by the depth of light penetration into the skin as well as the retention absorption
rate by the hair follicle at that wavelength. Deep penetration is necessary for laser hair
removal because the entire hair follicle and its bulb need to be treated.
Another factor
influencing wavelength range is the amount of melanin in your hair. Melanin is the dominant
absorber in your hair and epidermis. The absorption of light by melanin decreases at
longer wavelengths.
